This is my picture, I am not so happy.

Do the Next Right Thing

Lost. That was how I felt in June 2024.

Things were uncertain. I couldn’t see my future. And I had no idea what to do or what my purpose was. So, I felt very lost.

And this feeling had been lingering for the past 2–3 years.

And that was not very pleasant. When you lack a sense of purpose, life feels empty. You don’t feel very much alive. Something seems to be missing, leaving you feeling broken.

Even if everything else is perfect — health, wealth, and family — the lack of purpose creates a void that sucks all the happiness from your life.

But I kept going. Hoping to find some answers. That’s all I could do anyway.

Then something unexpected happened. And it changed everything.

I was watching Frozen 2. It’s a Disney animated movie. And there was a scene where Grand Pabbie, the wise troll King, said:

“When one can see no future, all one can do is the next right thing.”

That was it!

That was the answer!

That was what I had been searching for all these months!

The dialogue was so powerful that it stayed with me long after the movie ended.

Suddenly, I no longer had to worry about the uncertain future. I didn’t have to figure out everything. I didn’t have to look too far ahead.

Because now I knew what to do- the next right thing.

That was so relieving. I said to myself, “Just take the next breath and do the next right thing. And then the next. And so on.”

It’s been almost two months since I watched the movie, and I’ve been focusing on doing the next right thing: walking, exercising, meditating, reading, journaling, helping my clients, improving my skills, and sharing what I learn and experience to help people who are a few steps behind me.

I will get more answers when the time is right. Because the universe always answers our questions, often in the most unexpected ways. We just have to keep asking while we keep doing the next right thing.
